Chinese Medicine is calling for submissions to our Collection on Artificial Intelligence in Traditional Chinese Medicine. We invite researchers to submit original articles or reviews that explore how AI technologies are transforming various aspects of TCM. Contributions are welcome that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:

  • Database Development for TCM
  • Literature and Clinical Data Mining in TCM
  • AI for Identification and Quality Control of Chinese Herbal Medicines
  • AI for TCM Diagnosis Devices
  • AI for TCM Component Screening and Evaluation of Active Constituents
  • AI for Prescription Recommendation and Optimization

Professor Yi Wang, PhD, Zhejiang University, China

Professor Yi Wang is currently serving as the vice dean of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Zhejiang University. He has conducted research at the Food Drug Administration of U.S.A and Harvard Medical School. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Pharmaceutical Engineering Professional Sub-Committee of the Ministry of Education and the Deputy Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Medicine Committee of the Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association.




 


About the Collection

Chinese Medicine is calling for submissions to our Collection on Artificial Intelligence in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and multidisciplinary techniques in the modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is ushering in a new era. From advanced diagnostic tools to data-driven research, AI has the potential to revolutionize the paradigm of TCM research, making it more accessible, effective, and evidence-based.This special issue seeks to highlight the latest research, methodologies, and innovations at the intersection of AI and TCM. We invite researchers to submit original articles or reviews that explore how AI technologies are transforming various aspects of TCM.

Contributions are welcome that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:

  • Database Development for TCM: Creation and management of large-scale TCM databases integrating herbal formulas, experimental data and clinical records Insights derived from databases through data mining techniques.
  • Literature and Clinical Data Mining in TCM: Application of natural language processing (NLP) technologies, especially large language models like ChatGPT, for analyzing TCM literature and clinical data.
  • AI for Identification and Quality Control of Chinese Herbal Medicines: Leveraging computer vision methods for rapid and accurate identification of medicinal herbs AI solutions for assessing and monitoring the quality and authenticity of TCM.
  • AI for TCM Diagnosis Devices: Development and application of AI-based devices for tongue and pulse diagnosis.Real-time data collection and analysis to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of TCM diagnostics.
     
  • AI for TCM Component Screening and Evaluation of Active Constituents: AI-driven approaches to identify and evaluate active constituents in Chinese herbal medicines Accelerating the study of action mechanism through computational prediction models.
  • AI for Prescription Recommendation and Optimization: Optimization of traditional formulas to enhance therapeutic efficacy and reduce side effects Development of intelligent systems to recommend personalized TCM prescriptions based on patient data.
