About the Collection

Gut Pathogens is calling for submissions to our Collection on ‘Gut Virome and Viral Infections.’ This Collection aims to explore the complex and diverse world of ‘gut virome’, the community of viruses within the human gut and it’s role in health and disease. We welcome original research and reviews that investigate the impact of gut viruses on immune responses, gut microbiota interactions, viral pathogenesis, and their contributions to gastrointestinal and systemic infections.

Submissions are encouraged on the following topics:
1. Characterization of the gut virome
2. Interactions between gut viruses and the microbiome
3. Viral influence on immune system modulation
4. Role of the virome in gastrointestinal diseases
5. Diagnostic advancements for virome analysis
6. Therapeutic approaches targeting the virome
7. Impact of diet and lifestyle on the gut virome
8. Emerging viral infections linked to the gut

Researchers are invited to contribute to this growing field by submitting their findings to help deepen our understanding of the virome's role in human health.

This Collection welcomes submission of Research Articles and Reviews. Should you wish to submit a different article type, please read our submission guidelines to confirm that type is accepted by the journal.
