Pediatric transplantation has evolved significantly over the past few decades, transforming the treatment options for infants, children, and adolescents with end-stage organ failure. Understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced in pediatric transplantation is essential for improving patient outcomes and overall quality of life.
Recent breakthroughs in immunosuppressive therapy have notably improved graft survival rates and reduced rejection risks. Advancements in donor organ management, combined with refined surgical techniques, have resulted in a more efficient transplantation process. The development of postoperative care for this particularly vulnerable population has further contributed to better recovery. These progresses in the field pave the way for more effective, tailored transplantation protocols for children, ultimately enhancing their long-term health outcomes.
BMC Pediatrics is calling for submissions to our Collection, Advancements in pediatric organ transplantation. This Collection aims to explore the latest research in pediatric solid organ transplantation, encompassing various organ transplants, innovative surgical methods, and the multidisciplinary approaches necessary for successful outcomes.
This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal, including those submitted to Collections and special issues, are assessed in line with our editorial policies and the journal’s peer review process.
