BMC Digital Health is calling for submissions to our Collection, Digital health initiatives in resource limited settings.
Digital health initiatives have gained momentum in resource limited settings, offering innovative solutions or interventions to address healthcare challenges in resource-limited settings. These initiatives encompass a wide range of technologies, including mobile health (mHealth), telemedicine, remote monitoring, and telehealth, aiming to improve health equity, enhance health promotion and education, and facilitate access to quality care in disadvantaged communities.
It is important for us to continue advancing our collective understanding of digital health initiatives in resource limited settings to harness the full potential of technology in healthcare delivery. Recent advances have demonstrated the transformative impact of digital health interventions in improving disease management, expanding access to healthcare services, and strengthening health systems in resource-constrained settings. Moreover, these initiatives have shown promise in promoting community engagement, empowering patients, and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare delivery.
We encourage researchers and implementers sharing experiences and lessons learned in designing and implementing digital health interventions. We invite contributions that examine a wide range of topics relating to digital health initiatives in resource limited settings, including but not limited to:
- Adoption and (positive or negative) impact of digital health technologies in resource limited settings
- Health education and health promotion through digital platforms
- Telemedicine and mHealth for remote healthcare delivery
- Innovations in technology for healthcare in resource-limited settings
- Digital health interventions for maternal and child health
- Use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning in digital health
- Integration and interoperability of digital health solutions/platforms
- Data Governance including sharing, data privacy and security in digital health initiatives
- Monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of digital health solutions in resource limited settings
This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
