Journal of Ethnobiology and Ethnomedicine 20th Anniversary Collection

New Content Item2025 marks an exciting milestone for the Journal of Ethnobiology and Ethnomedicine (JEET). We celebrate 20 years of publishing research and timely reviews on cultural perceptions of nature and of human and animal health. For 20 years, the JEET has been advancing the field through groundbreaking articles that shed light on the inextricable links between human societies and nature, food, and health. While creating a diverse, innovative forum for research about local and indigenous ecological knowledge, the JEET has amplified the role of ethnobiology in supporting the ecological transition, sustainability sciences, urban transformations, and citizen science.

In this 20th anniversary collection, we feature a selection of articles that have received exceptional visibility and readership over the past 20 years, and that represent the fascinating range of topics covered by the JEET. While this selection is only a limited sample of the many other excellent articles published in the JEET, this collection aims to celebrate and thank the outstanding community of scientists and experts who have been building this journal tirelessly over the past 20 years, and to demonstrate the lasting impact of their work on developments in the field.
